New Entry Rules for Foreign Citizens to Armenia Come Into Force
New entry rules for foreign citizens to Armenia have come into force. According to amendments made to the decision of the government of Armenia dated September 11, 2020, when entering the territory of Armenia, it is required to present a negative result of a COVID-19 PCR test certifying no more than 72 hours old or a certificate confirming full vaccination. If a foreign citizen has received a single dose, they must present a certificate confirming they were vaccinated at least 28 days (4 weeks) prior to entering the country. In the case of multiple doses, the last dose must have been administered at least 14 days before the day of entry.
It is noteworthy that no negative test or vaccination certificate is required for children under 6 years and 11 months old.
ArmLur.am learned that individuals arriving from Russia to Armenia are presenting their certificates via the mobile application “Путешествую без COVID-19.” The entry of foreigners into Armenia remains open through both air and land routes, but only upon presenting a negative result of a PCR test no more than 72 hours old or a vaccination certificate. Entry is prohibited for those who do not present any of the aforementioned certificates.
Armenian citizens, foreign citizens with temporary or permanent residency status in Armenia, stateless persons permanently residing in Armenia, and individuals granted asylum or refugee status in Armenia will be subject to sampling at the airport or land border crossing points and mandatory self-isolation until the negative result of a PCR test is received if they do not present a certificate.
Another important point is that the expenses related to the PCR testing are borne by the citizen. Additionally, it is reported that a quarantine due to coronavirus has been established in Armenia since June 20, 2022.
