Khachatour Sukiasyan's Brother Released on Bail: Amount Disclosed
The brother of National Assembly member Khachatour Sukiasyan, Robert Sukiasyan, has been released on bail set at 55 million AMD. This information was provided by Sukiasyan's lawyer, Gor Mikaelyan.
It is recalled that the Investigative Committee had previously reported that according to the evidence obtained during the investigation, Robert Sukiasyan had engaged in a verbal dispute on July 18, 2021, around 19:15 in Amiryan Street, Yerevan, following a provocative action by his acquaintance's wife, Narek Karapetyan. This dispute escalated into a confrontation involving Karapetyan and a group of individuals, during which disrespectful behavior towards the public was exhibited, leading to mutual insults and physical altercations.
During this conflict, Robert Sukiasyan, driven by the urge to assert his superiority, struck Narek Karapetyan in the face with his head and fist. Following this, he displayed and charged his legally owned Browning-type 9x17 caliber combat handgun. Continuing his hooligan actions, he fired two shots at Karapetyan's feet, creating a panic among those nearby.
Subsequently, Robert Sukiasyan fired another shot from the same handgun at Narek Karapetyan's friend, causing a gunshot wound to the right tibia before fleeing the scene.
Based on the sufficient evidence gathered, Robert Sukiasyan has been charged under Article 258, Part 4 of the RA Criminal Code (hooliganism resulting in medium bodily harm). A motion was filed to choose pre-trial detention as a measure of restraint, which was granted. The prosecuting body has also decided to arrest Narek Karapetyan, with the execution of this order entrusted to the appropriate division of the RA Police.
