No order to refrain from firing was issued by any official, stated Deputy Minister of Defense Arman Sargsyan in the National Assembly. This was reported by aysor.am.

MP Gegham Manukyan from the 'Armenia' faction recalled that on May 20, Nikol Pashinyan announced that there had been mass brawls along the entire border. “On May 20, when Pashinyan made this statement, the Ministry of Defense should have responded by saying that the border is not being held with gunfire, but rather people are fighting each other with sticks. During that time, did the Ministry of Defense conduct any investigation as to why there was not gunfire on the front line, but rather attempts to stop the enemy's advance through brawls?” Manukyan asked the Deputy Minister.

Arman Sargsyan noted that the brawls were actions dictated by the situation at the time. “Studies in this regard are being conducted, and I believe that the events of May will also become the subject of investigation, and their results will be communicated to you,” said the Deputy Minister.

Sargsyan also mentioned that there are several changes being proposed to various laws in the Ministry of Defense, which the committee will inform about.
