The Charges Do Not Correspond to Reality: Arush Arushanyan

The trial of Goris community head Arush Arushanyan is underway at the Goris court of general jurisdiction in Syunik Province, having entered the examination phase.

During the court session, Arushanyan gave a brief speech, stating that he does not accept the charges against him. "The charges brought against me do not correspond to reality," he said, as reported by tert.am.

Alongside the court session, citizens organized a protest in support of Arush Arushanyan in front of the courthouse. A group of political and public figures also staged a protest in front of the Supreme Judicial Council building, expressing their disagreement with the detention of the current and former mayors of Syunik.

It is noteworthy that Arushanyan is accused of preparing, organizing, and assisting in the violation of the secrecy of voting, as well as obstructing the exercise of electoral rights by abusing his official position.
