Lusine Avetyan Regrets False Testimony Against Arush Arushanyan
Lusine Avetyan, who provided testimony against Goris Mayor Arush Arushanyan, has retracted her pre-investigation statement in court, expressing regret for giving false testimony against Arushanyan. This was reported by Pastinfo.
As previously informed, during a court session at the Syunik Regional Court, presided over by Judge Gnel Gasparyan, the prosecution presented the indictment concerning Arushanyan and others, after which the court established the procedure for examining evidence. According to the sequence set by the court, the defendants will be questioned first, followed by witnesses, and finally, the available documents in the case will be examined.
The questioning began with defendant Lusine Avetyan. In court, she declared that she was retracting her accusatory testimony given during the preliminary investigation, stating that Arushanyan had met with residents, listened to their social problems, and based on that, made decisions to provide assistance. Avetyan noted that Arushanyan had helped the same residents multiple times and considered it unacceptable to view that assistance as a bribe.
“I regret that I gave false testimony against Arushanyan,” Avetyan declared.
