I Will Not Rest Until We Bring Home the Many Armenian Prisoners. Adam Schiff

This unfortunate situation, created due to the actions of this incompetent government and the combined attacks of Turkish and Azerbaijani forces, involving jihadist mercenaries, has shocked the entire Armenian world. This was stated today, on November 29, by the representative of the Bureau of the ARF, Hakob Khachatryan, during the opening of the conference of the Armenian Cause committees and offices.

“It is natural that in this situation we immediately gathered and examined what tactical adjustments are necessary during and after this war, and the momentum did not stop. When we talk about the Armenian Cause, we mean four areas. The first is the work of lobbying for the homeland, including recognizing the right to self-determination of Artsakh. The second is the classical area of the Armenian Cause, which involves the issue of genocide recognition and claims. The third is the protection of the rights of Armenians on their lands, whether in the homeland or in the diaspora. And the fourth is the problem of the political engagement of Armenian youth,” he said.

A video message was sent to the conference by U.S. Congressman Adam Schiff. He particularly greeted the conference members, noting: “This year we have had a moment of progress when President Biden broke decades of shameful silence by recognizing the Armenian Genocide, but our work is far from done. Right now, thousands of people in Armenia and Artsakh live under dangerous and ongoing threats by their neighbors while mourning the loss of their loved ones who are being killed, abducted, displaced, tortured, and unlawfully detained. As the Vice Chair of the Congressional Armenian Caucus, I will not rest until we bring home the many prisoners, until refugees return to their homes, and until we bring lasting and just peace to the region. We will continue to support and strengthen democracy in Armenia and Artsakh, deepening the ties between our peoples. I will always stand beside Armenia and Artsakh.”
