Changes to the Criminal Code are Expected Again: 'Jamanak'

'Jamanak' newspaper reports that on May 5, 2021, the National Assembly adopted the new Criminal Code in its second reading and in full, which is set to replace the Criminal Code adopted in 2003 starting from July 1, 2022.

The new Criminal Code will come into effect through the passage of a new law titled 'On the Enforcement of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.' According to information obtained by 'Jamanak,' law enforcement officials suggest that the process of bringing the law into effect might be postponed due to proposed new amendments to the legislation. The validity of the information received by investigators will be revealed in time.
