Why 2,000 Helmets Did Not Reach Armenia During the War
According to the «Hraparak» newspaper, a significant incident from the recent war sheds light on the attitude of state officials from our allied Central Asian country within the framework of the CSTO and EAEU towards us.
During the war, when the Prime Minister urgently called upon our compatriots to provide armored vests and helmets to assist the army, Armenian entrepreneurs working in that former Soviet republic attempted to send nearly 2,000 helmets to Armenia. They purchased the helmets, prepared all necessary legal documents, and covered the costs related to transportation.
To avoid excessive scrutiny of the cargo, the enterprising Armenians designated the helmets as protective headgear necessary for construction. However, at the last minute, around twenty employees of that country's national security stormed the customs warehouse, confiscated the cargo, and detained the Armenians present there. The pursuit continued with the same severity the following day.
Therefore, those involved in the transaction managed to slip away through back channels from that «brotherly» country to avoid imprisonment. Notably, there are still Armenians in the prisons of that country today.
