Video: Man Attacks 90-Year-Old Woman, Injures Hand with Knife, Steals Gold Jewelry

The investigative department of the Gegharkunik region of the Armenian Investigative Committee has completed the preliminary investigation of a robbery case involving a 90-year-old resident of the Vaghashen community.

As a result of the necessary measures undertaken during the judicial process, it was established and substantiated that a 46-year-old resident of Vaghashen community, taking advantage of the elderly woman's vulnerability and isolation, launched an attack while masked with a medical mask. He inflicted violence that posed a danger to her health, injuring her hand with a non-lethal knife, and stole her gold earrings, necklace, and pendant, causing both physical injuries and significant material damage.

During the incident, a neighbor who witnessed the attack threw stones at the assailant, causing him to flee the scene.

Based on the gathered and sufficient evidence, the 46-year-old man has been charged under part 2, point 4 of Article 175 of the Armenian Criminal Code. The preliminary investigation has concluded, and the criminal case has been sent to court with an accusatory conclusion.
