VIDEO: Accident in Kuzbass Coal Mine - 45 Injured, 1 Fatality

In the city of Belovo, Kemerovo region of Russia, 45 people were injured and one person has died as a result of a smoke outbreak at the 'Listvyazhnaya' coal mine, according to Russian media reports. Two of the injured individuals are in critical condition.

As reported by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, there were 287 people present in the mine at the time. The smoke outbreak occurred at a depth of 250 meters. Preliminary data suggests that a violation of safety regulations may have been the cause of the explosion.

The regional prosecutor's office has initiated an investigation into the incident.
