New Changes in School Admission Principles: Zhanna Andreasyan Elaborates

Upcoming amendments to the Law on General Education to be discussed in the National Assembly are extensive. I will address important points in separate posts.

This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of Armenia, Zhanna Andreasyan, on her Facebook page: “Let’s start with the principles of school admission. As you know, the current law prioritizes children who have siblings in the same school or whose parents work at the school.

The amendment to the law will also provide priority for children living near the school, as well as children of public sector employees who have moved to another location in the territory of the Republic of Armenia for at least six months due to internal assignment, among whom particularly military personnel are frequently encountered,” wrote Andreasyan.
