Literally, my hair stood on end when I found out what article they placed against the teacher. It’s an absolute disgrace. Ruben Melikyan
The former history teacher Hakob Grigoryan does not have a defense attorney and requested a free lawyer in court yesterday, as he cannot afford legal services. Human rights defender Ruben Melikyan reported this on his Facebook page.
“Today, I had a phone conversation with the former history teacher Hakob Grigoryan. He is being prosecuted for allegedly making 'threats' regarding a classmate during class. Mr. Grigoryan has no defense attorney and requested a free lawyer in court yesterday, as he is unable to pay for legal services. I have offered to represent him for free in court. The decision is now up to him.
At this moment, I can only say that literally, my hair stood on end when I learned what article they placed against the teacher. It is simply an extreme disgrace. If the prosecutor's office thinks that no one will defend this man and he will 'be swept away,' they are gravely mistaken.”
