Netherlands Passes Resolutions on Azerbaijani Provocations and Lack of Democracy, Says Armenian Embassy
On November 23, the Parliament of the Netherlands adopted two resolutions concerning the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan and Armenian prisoners of war. This was reported by the Armenian Embassy in the Netherlands.
It is noted that one of the resolutions calls on the Government to work jointly with the EU to conduct an independent investigation into the facts surrounding the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and to report the findings to Parliament in a timely manner.
The second resolution addresses the serious issues of human rights, freedom of speech, and press freedom in Azerbaijan, which are increasingly worsening. The resolution also touches upon the issue of Armenian prisoners of war still held in Azerbaijan.
“Considering Azerbaijan's participation in the Eastern Partnership Summit scheduled for December 15 of this year—a country that is far from EU values—the Parliament of the Netherlands calls on the Government to draw conclusions from the aforementioned situations during EU-Azerbaijan negotiations within the ALGA framework,” the statement said.
