David Sanasaryan Receives Notification of Phone Hacking Attempt

David Sanasaryan, the leader of the 'Sovereign Armenia' political party, announced in a Facebook post that he received a warning last night at 2:00 AM via Apple’s threat-notifications email, indicating that his phone was under attack.

“Last night at 2 AM, I received a notification via Apple’s threat-notifications email stating that my phone was under attack. Now the question is, Mr. Pashinyan, does the NSS have nothing better to do? Perhaps you should consider how we will get out of this disgraceful situation, how we will restore the security environment, and how you will prevent potential dangers coming from the 5th column,” wrote Sanasaryan.

“If there is any specific information in my phone that interests you, just say it directly, and I promise to provide it. Otherwise, engaging in butterfly photography is not the job of the NSS,” he added.

Interestingly, it has been reported earlier that Arthur Vanetsyan, a member of the “I Have Honor” faction, also received a notification regarding a hacking attempt on his phone.

In discussions with the media, information security expert Samvel Martirosyan revealed that Pegasus is a virus, and while Armenia has not officially recognized purchasing it, it can buy it without confirmation since NSS procurements are not transparent.

According to him, at least several individuals have received that notification. Google, Apple, and several other organizations have a program that warns users if they detect a state-sponsored hacking attempt.

Martirosyan specified that one should not assume that the hacking incidents in Armenia are from Azerbaijan. Additionally, he noted that details about the attack are not disclosed, and the company may not even know where the cyber attack originated, as hackers often conceal their identities.
