Court Hearing for Teacher Accused of Inciting Violence Against Pashinyan to Take Place Today

Today at 17:00, the first court hearing in the criminal case involving history teacher Hakob Grigoryan from Yerevan's Gaï School No. 129, who allegedly incited violence against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during class, will take place. The case has been assigned to judge Mnatsakan Martirosyan of the Yerevan Court of First Instance.

According to the indictment, Grigoryan is charged with using his official position to publicly call for violence against Pashinyan and his family during a history class for seventh graders on May 21, 2021, around 12:00 PM, due to his disagreement with the political policies pursued by Pashinyan and holding different political views. Specifically, he allegedly declared that Nikol Pashinyan should be killed and that he and his family should be burned in public.
