Income from a Betting Company Found in the Declaration of the Judge's Wife in the Serzh Sargsyan Case

The newspaper "Pats" reports: "Yesterday, a sudden decision was made to involve Armenia's third president, Serzh Sargsyan, as a defendant in a criminal case that has been under investigation for nearly three years. The main 'hero,' as always, is businessman Silva Hambardzumyan, and the accusation, just like before, is bribery.

Yesterday, the Secretary of the 'I Have Honor' faction in the National Assembly, Hayk Mamijanyan, wrote on his Facebook page that the head of the Anti-Corruption Committee's third department, Hrachya Musheghyan, 'who agreed to distract public attention from yet another treacherous deal by putting Silva Hambardzumyan in Serzh Sargsyan's pocket, will soon be appointed to a high office.'

"Pats" sought to investigate who Hrachya Musheghyan actually is and first examined the declarations published on the website of the Anti-Corruption Compliance Commission. In addition to declaring six land parcels as joint property in the years 2019 and 2020, as well as quite substantial monetary funds (including 39 million dram in cash alone), we encountered an intriguing point: In the 2019 declaration of the declarant's family member, in this case, the wife, it is indicated that 'Income from Gambling or Winning Games' amounts to $5420. It is clear that such income cannot be received without 'playing.' Although the name of the betting company is mentioned in the declaration, we do not publish it to avoid promoting or opposing it."

Details can be found in today's edition of the newspaper.
