Arman Andreasyan Becomes World Champion in Military Wrestling

The representative of the Armenian Armed Forces has claimed the title of champion at the World Military Wrestling Championships taking place in Tehran. In the free style 70 kg weight category, Arman Andreasyan defeated all his opponents to earn a gold medal.

Fellow athlete-soldiers Mher Markosyan (86 kg) and Hrayr Alikhanyan (79 kg) secured the titles of world runners-up, earning silver medals. Harutyun Manukyan (61 kg), Hovhannes Mkrtchyan (92 kg), and Lyova Gevorgyan (125 kg) captured bronze medals.

The Armenian delegation's wrestlers, by winning a total of 1 gold, 2 silver, and 5 bronze medals, achieved third place overall in the team standings (1st place went to the Russian Federation, and 2nd place to the Islamic Republic of Iran).
