Today, the soldier killed by enemy gunfire was of Yezidi ethnicity
Today, the conscript soldier Suren Yuriki Safaryan was killed as a result of Azerbaijani gunfire. This was reported by the president of the National Union of Yezidis, Khdr Hajoyan.
“Around 18:10 today, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces opened fire with firearms of various calibers towards the Armenian positions located on the border with Azerbaijan, specifically in the northeastern area of the village of Norabak in the Gegharkunik region. As a result, 19-year-old Suren Yuriki Safaryan, a conscript soldier of the Armenian Defense Ministry's N unit and of Yezidi ethnicity, received a fatal gunshot wound (born in 2002),” he wrote.
“I learned of this with deep sorrow. I share in the heavy grief of this loss and extend my condolences and support to Suren Safaryan's family members, relatives, and comrades,” he added.
According to media reports, Safaryan was from the Alagyaz community in the Aragatsotn region. The 19-year-old soldier had been conscripted into the army last year.
