New COVID-19 Restrictions to Be Imposed in Artsakh

The State Minister of the Republic of Artsakh, Artak Beglaryan, convened a meeting on November 19 to discuss measures aimed at preventing the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the region.

Healthcare Minister Mikael Hayriyan initially presented a report on the operational situation regarding the coronavirus, which included statistics on the spread of the virus as well as ongoing treatment and prevention efforts. Hayriyan expressed deep concern over the situation, predicting a sharp increase in infection cases unless strict measures are taken in the near future.

A discussion was held regarding the introduction of new restrictions, regulations for entering the republic, the organization of the education process, and necessary preventive actions in other areas of the country's life.

Considering the alarming statistics on the spread of the virus and reported deaths, the State Minister assessed the effectiveness of preventive measures taken so far as inadequate. He emphasized the necessity of implementing new restrictions in the coming days and ensuring strict discipline, describing these steps as justified in the fight against the pandemic.

Artak Beglaryan highlighted the importance of overcoming the pandemic with collective efforts, with vaccination and adherence to minimum safety protocols being key steps. The State Minister expressed hope that the population in Artsakh would follow the example of communities in developed countries and get vaccinated as soon as possible, thereby preserving health and restoring the natural functioning of the republic.

At the end of the meeting, the State Minister issued several recommendations to the heads of responsible agencies regarding the proper organization of events and the effective application of control mechanisms.
