Man Assaulted and BMW Stolen Due to Debt
On the evening of November 12, a resident of Norapat village in the Armavir region called 1-02 to report that her husband had been assaulted near one of the shops on Yerevan Street in Armavir, and that his BMW had been unlawfully taken due to a debt.
The police reported that the notification was transferred to the Armavir police department according to jurisdiction. Some members of the operational group headed to Yerevan Street, while others traveled to Norapat.
It was revealed that around 8:30 PM, an acquaintance of the victim struck him with punches during a dispute over financial issues and threatened him with an object resembling a weapon, then seized the vehicle.
The owner of the BMW only knew the assailant's name. It was necessary to clarify the identity of the suspect and his whereabouts, and to locate both the individual and the vehicle.
As a result of the swift and effective work of the criminal investigators, it was determined within hours after the report that the crime had been committed by a 48-year-old resident of Yerevan Street in Armavir. He was found on Baghramyan Street and was taken into custody along with the stolen vehicle.
A personal search uncovered a glass tube containing remnants of a charred substance with a unique odor. According to the apprehended individual, he had used the glass tube for consuming narcotics, and the object resembling a weapon was a wooden toy.
The vehicle has been moved to a secure area of the department. Investigations into the circumstances are ongoing, and materials are being prepared regarding the incident.
