Citizens of Armenia and Four Other Countries Evacuated from Kabul; Aircraft Lands
IL-76 aircraft that transported evacuees from Kabul have landed at Chkalovsky Airport near Moscow, according to РИА Новости. The evacuation was organized by the Russian Ministry of Defense. It has been reported that citizens of Russia, Armenia, Afghanistan, Belarus, and Ukraine were evacuated.
Military doctors were on board the aircraft to provide escort and medical assistance. The planes also delivered over 36 tons of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.
In total, it is planned to evacuate 1,000 people from Kabul, with the first phase having successfully extracted 380 individuals. The evacuation from Afghanistan has been ongoing since mid-August when the Taliban terrorist group seized power in the country.
