Transportation with Iran Has Not Been Suspended: Bagratyan's Claims Are Inaccurate, Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure
Former Prime Minister Hrant Bagratyan stated at a press conference today that "at this moment, transportation with Iran is suspended because freight transportation can only occur through that route. In other words, the border with Iran is also closed, and we do not have cargo communication with Iran."
We would like to inform you that Bagratyan's claims are absolutely inaccurate. The border with Iran is open, and communication and freight transportation continue. On average, 150-160 freight vehicles cross the Iran-Armenia border daily.
The Tatev-Agvani alternative road is suitable for all types of vehicles, including those with trailers. Moreover, passenger transportation from Iran to Armenia has not decreased in any way. Five companies operate passenger transportation in the Iran-Armenia direction, and there have been no changes to their schedules.
