Russia Prohibits Import of Over 16 Tons of Azerbaijani Tomatoes
The Russian agricultural watchdog, Rosselkhoznadzor, has disallowed the importation of a batch of tomatoes infected with quarantine harmful objects from Azerbaijan. This was reported by the Caucasian Interregional Administration of Rosselkhoznadzor.
According to haqqin.az, during the quarantine plant sanitation inspection, a consignment of tomatoes weighing 16.5 tons was found to contain a quarantine object for Russia (Tomato brown rugose fruit virus). As a result of violating the "Plant Quarantine" law, the product owners were subjected to administrative responsibility in accordance with Russian legislation. The cargo has been sent back to Azerbaijan.
