Reports Indicate Criminal Cases Filed Against Soldiers for Firing at Incoming Enemy, Nazaryan Says

Azerbaijan and Turkey will continue to exert pressure in different ways because they have found a vulnerable spot, which is the current leadership of Armenia. This was stated today, November 17, by Gegham Nazaryan, a member of the 'Armenia' faction, in a conversation with reporters, as reported by news.am.

“The main reason we are still in a state of war and defeat is the №1 responsible party who has not taken responsibility for resignation since November 9 and still does not have it, because he is guided only by his personal safety concerns — if I resign, what will happen to me? As long as he is seated in that chair, Azerbaijan and Turkey will continue to apply the same pressures,” Nazaryan emphasized.

“Turkey has a large espionage network and understands very well that each such attack empties both Syunik and Armenia. It is evident that the war that started on September 27 has not ended and that Azerbaijan and Turkey have not finished their agenda. What took place on November 16 would not have happened if the current administration understood that after that great tragedy, we should change the face of our country, give opportunities to new people, and present the country to the world in a different way,” he noted.

According to Gegham Nazaryan, the fact that a soldier standing in position becomes a captive is the responsibility of this administration. “Since September 27, we are dealing with an inhumane war. We are facing an adversary that respects neither its own victims nor those of the enemy. The head of this administration has been saying since November 9, ‘Give me time.’ A year has passed, why are our positions not properly equipped, why didn’t they have the necessary arms to prevent such attacks? It is a fact that our forces, moving to our positions by trucks, are being taken captive, which raises numerous questions. Surrendering is not an easy matter. How can an armed person surrender in such cases? I do not blame the boys, because we do not know what orders they have in this or that circumstance. We have information; parents turn to us, saying that at this moment we have soldiers who have had criminal cases filed against them because they fired at the enemy coming towards them. This is closed information since it is very difficult to verify, but I do not receive that much information for no reason,” Gegham Nazaryan emphasized.
