Peskov on Armenian-Azerbaijani Clash
Russia will continue to mediate in the settlement of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and the situation can only be stabilized through the implementation of common agreements around Nagorno-Karabakh, said Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov to reporters, as reported by RIA Novosti.
“The Russian side will continue to do this (mediate in the negotiations). We still hope that the only way to stabilize the situation is through the implementation of trilateral agreements, and we believe that all countries must first fulfill their obligations, as this will guarantee the prevention of such incidents from recurring,” said Peskov.
He also noted that a trilateral summit involving Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan will be necessary at some point, but it requires the agreement of all parties involved.
“Of course, at some point such interactions will be necessary, but for them to be possible, the agreement and willingness of the three parties is essential,” said Peskov.
