Conflict in the Ministry of Defense: Why Did Pashinyan Send Papikyan There?

According to the newspaper "Haykakan Zhamanak," the appointment of former Deputy Prime Minister Suren Papikyan as the Minister of Defense of Armenia will be temporary. Sources within the government report that Nikol Pashinyan sent Papikyan to the Ministry of Defense with the aim of understanding what is happening inside the ministry.

The situation at the Ministry of Defense is tumultuous, alongside the border situation, with internal conflicts where officials are shifting responsibility for any tasks to one another, reporting each other's inactivity to the leadership, and so on.

As a result, a process of purging is expected to begin within the ministry, which may lead to high-level dismissals, including that of Chief of General Staff Artak Davtyan, his deputies, and other generals.
