Is Artaq Davtyan Charged?
Last Saturday, Artaq Davtyan, the Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces, was charged in the case of "substandard missiles." However, no preventive measure was selected. This information was reported by Hraparak.
Auroranews contacted the RA Special Investigative Service, where they informed us that they currently have no such information.
According to Hraparak, the charge was filed in parallel with the placement of customs posts by Azerbaijan along the roads of several villages in Kapan, suggesting that the government is seeking to silence Davtyan with this accusation to ensure that he obediently carries out all assignments related to the agreements made with Aliyev.
In particular, yesterday, Minister of Defense Arshak Karapetyan disagreed with the government on allowing Azerbaijanis to move freely in our territory, which is why he submitted a resignation request. Artaq Davtyan has come under scrutiny; conditions have been set—either you follow our orders regarding not obstructing Azerbaijanis, or you will be arrested.
Law enforcement agencies are doing everything under the guidance of the ruling party to keep the topic of the charges from becoming public. Moreover, the preliminary investigation body has found itself at a dead end in this criminal case, as all the claims by the General Staff have been substantiated, indicating that the missiles were indeed of good quality and that there was a real need to purchase them.
According to the same sources, Davtyan’s interests are represented by the former head of the investigative department of the RA NSS, Mnatsakan Marukyan, who has now entered the legal profession. In a conversation with the site, he stated that he is unaware of what charges are being discussed, and he is not involved in the case as a lawyer.
