Former Mayor of Armavir Accepts Guilt; His Arrest Warrant Modified
The former mayor of Armavir, Ruben Khlyghtyan, has been released from custody. This was reported to Iravaban.net by Gagik Abrahamyan, an advisor to the Attorney General of Armenia.
"He has been released from pre-trial detention because, following the decision of the prosecutor overseeing the legality of the pre-trial investigation, the detention measures for two individuals involved in the case, including R. Khlyghtyan, have been replaced with bail. This decision was made following a review of the application submitted by the defense, based on the fact that the pre-trial investigation is at its final stage, and the defendants have admitted their guilt. Under these circumstances, the prosecutor found that the risks of illegal influence on the participants in the proceedings have decreased," stated Abrahamyan.
