Call to Stop Publicizing Information About Norayr Mirzoyan's Family Life

The Human Rights Defender of Artsakh, Gegham Stepanyan, wrote on his Facebook page: "This morning, I visited Norayr Mirzoyan, who is neither arrested nor detained and is currently in a medical facility under the supervision of doctors. I inquired about his health condition and assured that he is receiving the necessary medical care.

Afterward, I also met with members of N. Mirzoyan's family, who stated that communication with him is being maintained. At the request of his relatives, I call on everyone to cease all actions publicizing information about N. Mirzoyan and his personal and family life, assuring you that you are only harming Norayr and causing unnecessary anxiety to his family.

I reiterate that the Office of the Human Rights Defender of Artsakh is taking all necessary measures within its jurisdiction to ensure the proper protection of N. Mirzoyan's rights, and therefore, independent actions and unconsidered steps in this matter are undesirable."

On November 13, the National Security Service of the Republic of Artsakh reported that early in the morning on the Stepanakert-Lachin interstate road, near the checkpoint of Shushi city, in response to the provocative actions of Azerbaijani military personnel, Norayr Mirzoyan threw an explosive device at the checkpoint, after which the Stepanakert-Shushi-Lachin interstate road was blocked in both directions.
