Arman Tatoyan Issues Statement

The Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan has made a statement on his Facebook page:

1. “Near our villages and along the roads are Azerbaijani forces that tortured and killed our servicemen and civilians during the war and have not been held accountable for their actions.
2. This threat has not disappeared; the Azerbaijani authorities have intensified the propaganda of hatred and enmity towards Armenians.
3. Political interests should not hinder the resolution of these critical issues related to the safety of our country and each of us, and our most vital rights.
4. The presence of Azerbaijani armed forces near our villages and along the roads is a gross and massive violation of the livelihoods, freedom of movement, and other essential rights of the residents of the Republic of Armenia, posing a real security threat.
5. Therefore, it is the primary task for all of us (each in our own capacity) to remove Azerbaijani armed forces and other services from near our villages and roads; we have the foundations for this action. This is especially relevant regarding Azerbaijani incursions into our country, and they must also be held accountable for their criminal acts.
6. Everything else is secondary; everything else is subordinate.”
