Pressure is Being Applied in Syunik for the Corridor to Nakhichevan, Says Seyran Ohanyan
Recent events on the eastern segment of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border are a continuation of Azerbaijani pressures aimed at obtaining a corridor to Nakhichevan, stated Seyran Ohanyan, a member of the Armenian Parliament's 'Hayastan' faction and former Minister of Defense, in an interview with Sputnik Armenia.
"This is part of the ongoing pressures that the Azerbaijani side and the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem are exerting on the Republic of Armenia, trying to invade and create favorable conditions for establishing a corridor to Nakhichevan," Ohanyan noted.
When asked if he had information regarding the withdrawal of Armenian forces by 1-2 km, he stated that he did not possess such information. Ohanyan believes that current actions are taking place in the area northeast of Ishkhanasar in Syunik Province, towards Jermuk.
