VIDEO: 'Any Azerbaijani can shoot down our aircraft with a simple automatic weapon' - Alvina Aghababyan
The head of Strategic Research, Alvina Aghababyan, stated on her Facebook page: 'In order to distract people's attention from the threats stemming from completely handing over the Goris-Kapan interstate road to the enemy, today it was announced, coincidentally, that regular flights from Yerevan to Kapan will commence starting January 20 (twice a week). The government also allocated about 50 million drams to Kapan's 'Syunik' airport today.
This video was published by an Azerbaijani user, filmed from their positions just meters away from the airport. The video clearly shows both the airport and the runway. The lethal range of standard and modified Kalashnikov assault rifles (AK-74, AKM) is 1,500 meters. This means that any Azerbaijani with a simple automatic weapon can shoot down our aircraft at any moment.
Question 1 - Who and how will ensure the safety of Yerevan-Kapan-Yerevan flights? Question 2 - What will be conceded to Azerbaijan in exchange for each safe flight? Question 3 - Is there a mechanism to hold Azerbaijan accountable for a downed aircraft and the deaths of our citizens (if, of course, there is the audacity to even consider holding Azerbaijan accountable)?
