Russians Are Against It, Let Them Remove Him Too: 'Hraparak'
The 'Hraparak' newspaper reports: 'Certain circles within the Russian government are strongly opposed to the rector of the Armenian-Russian Slavonic University, Armen Darbinyan, and believe he should be removed from his position. However, legally this is almost impossible, as the board of trustees, which elects the rector, is in favor of Darbinyan.
Recently, during a meeting with an official Armenian delegation visiting Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov directly asked why Armen Darbinyan has not been removed from his position, stating that he receives money from Russia but has turned the university into a haven for Soros affiliates and sends graduates to Europe.
He admonished the Armenian authorities for allowing Darbinyan to continue working. However, according to our information, after a previous attempt by the Armenian authorities, in which they tried to remove Darbinyan through the NSS and the Ministry of Education and Science, but failed due to a student and faculty backlash, Nikol Pashinyan no longer wants to take on that thankless task, and when the Russians raised the issue again, he reportedly said, 'The Russians are against it, let them remove him themselves.'
