Return Process of Captives is Progressing Intensively, Says Governor

With three years of legislative experience, I will put my skills and knowledge to work for the benefit of the Shirak region, said the newly appointed governor of Shirak, Nazeli Baghdasaryan, during a conversation with reporters at the government.

When asked what actions she would take first, Nazeli Baghdasaryan noted that it is essential to first identify the problems. “The Shirak region is full of issues, and I will work on solving these problems. I believe I have a high probability of succeeding because I am familiar with the main issues,” said the governor, assuring that visible results would be achieved in a short period.

Baghdasaryan emphasized that there is no dissatisfaction or negative sentiment within the political team regarding the former governor, which is clearly evidenced by the fact that the former governor of Shirak now holds the position of Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure.

Regarding the 62 individuals from Shirak who were captured, Nazeli Baghdasaryan stated that 29 have returned so far, while 33 are still captive. “The return process is progressing quite intensively. On my first working day, I met with the parents of those who were captured. There was also another meeting in a different format the day before,” said the governor.
