Azerbaijan Will Try to Force Armenia to Change Its Position: Abrahamyan

The Ministry of Defense yesterday denied reports of clashes between Armenian and Azerbaijani soldiers in the area of the Black Lake, and the possibility of Armenian soldiers being encircled. This was stated on his Facebook page by Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the Armenian National Assembly from the "I Have Honor" faction.

He specifically mentioned: "If we set this aside and accept it as a reality, it is evident that the Azerbaijanis are displaying certain activity in this area, trying to strengthen their positions. For Azerbaijan, the strategic priority at this stage is Syunik, where significant resources are being allocated to solidify their presence and seize important positions and heights.

The declarations from Armenia and Russia denying the idea of a corridor compel Azerbaijan to increase pressure. At this stage, Azerbaijan will try to force Armenia to change its position and accept Azerbaijani preconditions regarding the corridor issue.

This means that Azerbaijani pressures will primarily manifest on the border line, and the danger will first and foremost be reflected in identifying vulnerable directions of the front line, especially considering the characteristics of the winter months, ensuring new advances.

Countries with normal governance would carry out serious measures to enhance security in such situations, whereas the only action the Armenian government should take is to ensure a smooth departure from power. This is in the interest of both the country and their own interests. The ring around Armenia continues to tighten."
