16 Citizens Detained During Protest in Front of Government Building

16 citizens have been detained during a protest in front of the Government building. This information was reported to Pastinfo by the Public Relations and Media Department of the Police of the Republic of Armenia, indicating that the citizens were detained under Article 182 of the Code of Administrative Offenses for failing to comply with the legal demands of police officers.

It should be noted that a protest is taking place near the Government building against the installation of Azerbaijani checkpoints on the Goris-Kapan highway in the Syunik province. During the protest, citizens attempted to enter the Government building, leading to heightened tensions. Police officers prevented the citizens from approaching the Government building, resulting in a scuffle between the police and protest participants.

Several participants, including freedom fighters, were detained by the police. Gegham Manukyan informed reporters that the health condition of one of the detained citizens had deteriorated.
