That Category Should Not Decide My Child's Fate: Mnatsakan Bichakchyan

The former head of the Passport and Visa Department of the Police of the Republic of Armenia, Mnatsakan Bichakchyan, wrote on his Facebook page:

“The electoral law does not legally allow the deprivation of an individual's right to vote based on a judicial act. For instance, those who mock the death of a loved one, those who commit acts and make calls aimed at the destruction of the homeland, and those who insult individuals on Facebook and other social networks should be deprived of the right to vote according to the application of an interested party. That category should not decide my child's fate. Moreover, the deprivation of the right to vote should be a stigma and considered a shameful phenomenon; such individuals should be isolated from society until they come to their senses. In contrast, individuals sentenced for serious and particularly serious offenses are the ones that the law has stripped of their voting rights. And who said that there are no patriots among them?”
