Azerbaijan Confirms Information About 40 Captured Residents of Artsakh, Ombudsman Details
Dozens of residents of Artsakh were taken captive during the 44-day war with Azerbaijan in 2020. This was announced by Gegham Stepanyan, the Human Rights Defender of Artsakh, during a meeting with Russian media in Stepanakert.
He reported that Azerbaijan has confirmed the information regarding 40 residents of Artsakh who are currently in captivity. Among them, three are civilians.
Additionally, according to the human rights defender, the authorities of Artsakh have no information about the fate of 20 individuals. These individuals are mainly elderly people and those with mental health issues.
