Ukraine Establishes Special Register for Oligarchs

Today, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law regarding oligarchs. He announced this on his Twitter page.

“The anti-oligarchic law fundamentally changes the relationship between large businesses and political figures. Now, all economic players will be equal before the law and will not be able to buy political privileges for themselves,” he wrote.

According to the law, the decision to recognize a person as an oligarch is made by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. Additionally, a special register will be established for Ukrainian citizens recognized as oligarchs.
