Costa Rica Becomes First Country to Mandate COVID-19 Vaccinations for Children
Costa Rica is the first country in the world to make COVID-19 vaccinations mandatory for children, as reported by the BBC.
Health officials have stated that the coronavirus vaccination will be added to the list of essential vaccinations for children.
The country has signed a contract with Pfizer to procure vaccines for all children under the age of 12 starting from March 2022.
It is noteworthy that earlier this week, US health authorities approved the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine for children aged 5 to 11 years.
