Violence Against Police Officers: Charges Filed Against Four Individuals

The Prosecutor's Office of Lori region has approved the indictment in a criminal case regarding acts of violence against police officers by a group of individuals following a tragic traffic accident involving a wood-laden vehicle near the village of Martz on August 14. The Prosecutor's Office of Armenia reports that the case has been sent to the Lori Regional Court of General Jurisdiction for substantive examination.

Based on adequate evidence obtained during the investigation conducted by the Lori Regional Investigative Department under appropriate prosecutorial oversight, charges have been filed against V. V., M. S., V. K., and A. B. for committing violence against a representative of the authorities. The latter two are also charged with intentionally causing property damage and significant harm.

The investigation continues regarding another part of the criminal case, in which three more individuals are involved as defendants for committing similar offenses. Measures are being taken to identify other individuals connected to the incident and provide legal evaluations of all their actions.
