Samvel Poghosyan Appointed Deputy Chief of Staff of Special Military Corps
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has proposed the appointment of Samvel Poghosyan as the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Special Military Corps of the Armed Forces of Armenia, as reported by the press service of the President.
“Based on the Prime Minister's proposal, in accordance with Article 133, Part 1 of the Constitution, as well as Article 35.1, Part 1 and Article 37, Part 1, Clause 1 of the Law on Military Service and the Status of Military Personnel, Samvel Poghosyan is appointed as Deputy Commander of the Special Military Corps,” the statement read.
It is known that this corps was formed in the army in August. It was previously led by Major General Artak Budaghyan. On August 26, a statement was issued announcing that Artak Budaghyan had been appointed as the commander of the Special Military Corps, according to a presidential decree. By another decree, he was relieved of his duties as commander of the 4th Army Corps.
