Who Will Become the Mayor of Gyumri? Cooperation Agreement Signed Between the 'Balasanian' Alliance and the CP

On October 30, at 14:00, a cooperation agreement was signed between the 'Balasanian' Alliance and the CP. This was announced in a conversation with NEWS.am by Vahan Hunanian, a candidate for the council from the 'Balasanian' Alliance.

According to him, the candidate for mayor of Gyumri will be Vardges Samsonyan, who leads the 'Balasanian' Alliance. Vahan Hunanian did not provide further details.

It is noteworthy that in the local government elections held in Gyumri on October 17, five parties surpassed the electoral threshold: the 'Balasanian' Alliance, the 'Civil Contract', 'Zartonk', 'Living Land', and the Republican Party. However, none of these parties can form a unilateral municipal authority, as no party will secure more than half of the 33 council seats.

This indicates that the municipal authority in Gyumri will be formed on a coalition basis.
