The Winner of the Amateur Race for the "Prime Minister of Armenia Cup" is Yervand Mkrtchyan

The winner of the amateur race for the "Prime Minister of Armenia Cup" is Yervand Mkrtchyan. According to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, the runner completed the 10 km distance in approximately 30 minutes.

"This was a wonderful opportunity to show both myself and other athletes that I can overcome the challenge set before me. I managed the 10 km very well," said Yervand Mkrtchyan.

Yervand, who is from Gyumri, stated that running in Gyumri is more difficult because it is at a higher altitude compared to Yerevan, which is lower and has a flatter terrain.

"I cannot say that I had no competition. I know many of the participants here; they are all my friends, and everyone ran very well. I have no experience in running 10 km, but I have participated in the Yerevan Half Marathon five times and won all five times. I value such competitions highly as they will also contribute to the development of athletics in our country, as athletics is the queen of sports," our hero concluded.

It is important to note that the race started from the vicinity of the Parakar community center and ended at the Ejmiatsin square. The award winners will be recognized.

The winners in the first age group, both boys and girls, will receive computers. In the second and third age groups, the prizes are set at 1 million drams for first place, 600 thousand drams for second place, 400 thousand drams for third place, 150 thousand drams for fourth place, and 100 thousand drams for fifth place. Monetary encouragement is also planned for those finishing in the 6th to 10th places with awards of 75 thousand drams, and for the 11th to 20th places with awards of 50 thousand drams.

Additionally, participants who place in the top three in the three age groups will be awarded certificates from the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, along with trophies and medals. Monetary prizes will be given to participants who are citizens of the Republic of Armenia.
