PM Explains Delay in Creating Inquiry Commission for 44-Day War During Meeting with Extraparliamentary Forces

During a meeting with extraparliamentary political forces, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan explained why the inquiry commission for the 44-day war has not yet been established. A video detailing this information was shared on the government’s Facebook page.

“As of today, a de jure inquiry commission has not been created, which also depends on the fact that the activities of that commission may last for 6 months and possibly an additional 6 months. Therefore, the start should be given after thorough preparation to ensure we fit within that timeframe,” Pashinyan stated.

On the other hand, he noted that if it becomes clear that the work cannot be completed within that timeframe, they will be forced to make legislative changes to extend it by another two six-month periods. Pashinyan reminded that the announcement to create the inquiry commission was made months ago, but since representatives of extraparliamentary forces and parents of the deceased will participate, it is necessary to make precise formulations.
