My Upbringing Does Not Allow for Any Other Behavior. Vardevanyan Apologizes to Avanesyan

Yesterday, during a press briefing at the National Assembly, I had literally stated, "This is not only a disgrace from a professional standpoint but also an arrogant behavior towards one’s status and position. It has been a month since the Minister of Health has refused to respond to his direct responsibilities. This is also incomprehensible to me on a human level." This was stated by Aram Vardevanyan, a member of the Armenia parliamentary faction, on his Facebook page.

He particularly noted, "Any personally offensive wording is naturally absent, as that is not my style. However, I learned that Ms. Avanesyan was offended by that statement. I have no issue or difficulty apologizing to a woman. My upbringing does not allow for any other behavior. I directly address you, Ms. Avanesyan: If you were offended by my words, I apologize, this is generally a requirement of respect towards women. At the same time, my numerous disagreements and criticisms will not be limited."
