The MP from the 'Honor and Dignity' faction, Taguhi Tovmasyan, announced during a session of the National Assembly that information is circulating regarding tension at the state border in the Gegharkunik region. She directed a question to Deputy Minister of Defense Arman Sargsyan, asking what kind of tension was being referred to.

Arman Sargsyan stated that he would refrain from responding at the moment as he did not have specific information available. 'In any case, I have not received any such information when leaving the Ministry of Defense. If anything happens before the end of the session, I will urge our media service colleagues to promptly publish the information,' he said.

Tovmasyan also questioned the Deputy Minister of Defense regarding the statement made by Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan, which mentioned that the Azerbaijani Armed Forces had conducted construction work at the Gegharkunik border.

'When the Human Rights Defender published information about Azerbaijani activities near the state border in Gegharkunik, the Ministry of Defense denied this information, even though it is clearly observable with the naked eye that the Azerbaijani actions are evidently aimed at accumulating something and building communication lines,' the MP said, asking what the Ministry of Defense was denying.

'As the Deputy Minister of Defense, I continue to insist on the Ministry of Defense's statement. If the Human Rights Defender has additional information, he can present it. I trust the information provided by the Armed Forces, on which our information service based its statements,' he responded. In reply to the MP's remarks, he continued, 'The Ministry of Defense has never categorically denied that attempts are not being made. Naturally, with the use of heavy engineering equipment, certain attempts are being made to fortify combat positions and the roads leading to their combat positions, but these are being thwarted. Naturally, they want to fortify their position where they are located or gain an advantage, but these are being prevented as quickly as possible,' he said.
