Our Goal is to Prevent Any New Concessions at All Costs: Sahakyan on November 9 Rally

Deputy of the National Assembly from the "Armenia" faction and NA Vice President Ishkhan Sahakyan wrote on his Facebook page: "My announcement regarding the rally in the first ten days of November has become a subject of intense discussion on social networks and various platforms. Some accuse us, saying that organizing a rally on November 9 is pointless since everything will already be over. Others intentionally distort my words, pursuing different objectives.

Dear compatriots, the reality is this: since we have repeatedly declared that our struggle has not stopped and that we plan specific actions in the near future, we submitted a request to the Yerevan Municipality ten days ago to organize rallies and marches on November 9 and 10.

In response to a journalist's question, I confirmed that the rally scheduled for November 9 is still in effect. This, of course, does not mean that we will do nothing until November 9, including organizing rallies. I have said this dozens of times and I will repeat it once more: our goal is to prevent new capitulation and the Turkification of Armenia.

Our aim has never been to allow the authorities to lead the country to defeat, and only after that to say, 'You are double traitors.' We acted the same way during last year's days of war, constantly proposing solutions to get out of the created situation. Even in the hottest days of the war, we suggested creating a military-political operational staff in the country to make a breakthrough at the front.

I am grateful and indebted to our friends and citizens who have fought day and night and continue to fight because they understand that the fate of the homeland is at stake. In the coming days, we will discuss in more detail, here I just want to reaffirm that forming a Pan-Armenian resistance is a vital necessity. And the only way to avoid new humiliations is, we declared this back in August.

I reiterate: our goal is to prevent any new concession at all costs. Is this possible? In my opinion, it is possible if we refrain from senseless speculations, stand united, and are sufficiently numerous. Let’s do this, it will work, and we will save the homeland; otherwise, there will always be those to blame, be untroubled. The homeland is important, not the removal of power in a lost homeland."
