Opposition Plans to Take to the Streets Starting November 9: Arzvik Minasyan Details

It is possible that street protests (rallies, marches, roadblocks) may begin as early as November 9. This was stated by Arzvik Minasyan, secretary of the 'Armenia' faction, during a meeting with journalists on October 25.

According to him, demands may be raised at any time based on the developments of events. “We applied for the rallies on November 9-10 twenty days ago. Our goal is to utilize all possible methods to avoid creating another situation that would be contrary to Armenian interests. We will use all opportunities to prevent the process rather than react post-factum. All processes, including negotiations conducted by the authorities, must be public. There must be involvement from the public and the diaspora. Maps or documents cannot be put at the core if there are no studies conducted by Armenia,” Minasyan noted.

He also mentioned that if Prime Minister Pashinyan has said this and continues to do the same, then he must be held accountable for it. The opposition forces do not have a problem competing with each other; rather, the challenge lies in confronting national threats. We have always stated that the struggle must be conducted in all possible directions,” Minasyan emphasized.

Haik Mamikanyan, secretary of the ‘I Have Honor’ faction, for his part expressed readiness to support any event of real opposition aimed at fighting processes contrary to Armenian interests. “Regarding the involvement of Armenia’s third president Serzh Sargsyan, he cannot remain in a comfort zone when some capitulator has destroyed the main achievement of independent Armenia,” he added.
