5 Magnitude Earthquake in Armenia Felt in Shirak and Lori Regions

On October 24, at 21:04 local time (17:04 GMT), a 5 magnitude earthquake was registered by the Seismic Protection Territorial Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia. The earthquake occurred at geographical coordinates of 41.12° North latitude and 43.92° East longitude, in the Armenia-Georgia border zone, 9 km east of the village of Bavra, at a depth of 10 km.

The intensity of the tremors in the epicentral area has been assessed at 5 points. The earthquake was felt with a magnitude of 4 points in the Shirak province and with 3-4 points in the towns of Vanadzor and Spitak, as well as in the village of Shnogh in the Lori province.
